Community Affairs
Like many other companies, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. strives to have a positive impact in the cities where we have a presence. We believe in good corporate citizenship. This philosophy has governed our operations since the founding of our companies. It is ingrained in our culture and personified in our leadership.
MMPI has a rich tradition of partnering with leading community organizations. As a hall manager and trade show producer, we have a unique set of assets which we can deploy to assist a variety of community groups. Through our events, we provide platforms for organizations to raise money or highlight outstanding work. To ensure their success, we work with organizations to produce direct mail or host board meetings in our conference rooms.
The Merchandise Mart hosts philanthropic events such as the Sister to Sister National Woman’s Heart Health Day Fair. By providing registration facilities for events such as Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization Walk-a-thon, we demonstrate our commitment to strengthening the overall social fabric in the communities we serve. The Merchandise Mart hosts fundraisers for organizations such as Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Best Buddies International, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Children’s Memorial Hospital and many more. MMPI is also proud to manage and promote the annual citywide Sharing It Day food drive benefiting The Greater Chicago Food Depository. Our employess are active in supporting charitable events in the city such as Polar Plunge and Bike the Drive. With these activities, we provide a platform for the entire community to give back.
